I have never had one and I only used laptops before, what is a good mechanical keyboard that you guys will recommend. I am not really worried about price but keep it under 300$.

What do you look for in a keyboard? Do you want a full-size board, or maybe a ten-keyless (or even smaller)? Do you need macro keys or dedicated media keys? Do you care about fancy lighting effects, what about RGB lighting? You should also do some research on different switch types to find out which is the one for you. If you can go to a store and try some switches out, even better!

Is backlight important to you? If not, try the Das Keyboard 4.
