i7 and 970 is not good. Get an i5 and a better GPU or save money. For 2500, you have no excuse not to get a 980 or even Titan class GPU. The VG248QE is a great monitor, I use it. But if you buy it, make sure you really want that 1ms and 144hz. There are better monitors for much less if you don't use 3d vision or the high refresh rate.

So what moniter would you suggest if not this one

Well that's not a great way to put it, hyperthreading is of great help to people who do video editing, rendering, etc.

True, but it is not useful to any gamers. I should have worded that better, thanks.

From top down

-Gold HIS IceQ X2 will look ridiculous in a red/black build. I love HIS but this is not the right time/build.

-Had three different XFX 290X in a row go bad on me, after third replacement still crapped out said screw it and went for PowerColor TurboDuo

-Reference, no.

-XFX again, no.

-Good card, but $340...

I am great with an XFX 280x in a mining rig. It has spent about 5 months at constant 100% load and works perfectly now for about a year and a half. Who cares about looks? Answer: Many people but maybe not this individual. Reference is noisy but you can get an aftermarket cooler.

What do you want from it? I used ASUS, LG, and Samsung IPS and PLS monitors for people on a budget in their builds. They all like their monitors so that would be a good choice if you want IPS.

csgo to Far Cry 4 to BF4 all a different range

Forget what I said about monitors, CSGO would benefit for the high refresh rate and low response time.
