i7 and 970 is not good. Get an i5 and a better GPU or save money. For 2500, you have no excuse not to get a 980 or even Titan class GPU. The VG248QE is a great monitor, I use it. But if you buy it, make sure you really want that 1ms and 144hz. There are better monitors for much less if you don't use 3d vision or the high refresh rate.

You could save a lot more money on that hard drive. If you aren't planning on doing SLI, I would get a lower wattage power supply and save some money there. Also, I wouldn't recommend MSi as they have sub-par quality control and service from my experience.

So msi are not the people you would go with example?

I am good with an MSI mobo.

You could step up to 290x for the same budget as the original post had. Just saying.

Most of the components I'm happy with but just the cpu cooler I need to find one with a cheaper price but any suggestions are good

I don't know how much the Cooler Master Nepton or the H105 costs at your place, but you should have a look at them. They might be cheaper and definitly perform better than the H100i.

Overall the build looks pretty good.

Hyper-Threading will not make a difference in games really. The i5 is a very powerful CPU in gaming and with even a slight overclock you'll be perfectly fine

AMD is just fine. Hyperthreading is useless to almost everyone.

The cheapest 290X that's not reference, gold, or an XFX is $340 each...

What's wrong with just any old 290x? Why do you want it gold or XFX? I used ASUS and MSI 290x for builds for others and they were cheap at about 320-340 CAD and CAD is much cheaper than USD.

From top down

-Gold HIS IceQ X2 will look ridiculous in a red/black build. I love HIS but this is not the right time/build.

-Had three different XFX 290X in a row go bad on me, after third replacement still crapped out said screw it and went for PowerColor TurboDuo

-Reference, no.

-XFX again, no.

-Good card, but $340...
