My Asus Z87-A Motherboard has the Bios Version 2103 installed. I did all the cmos reset stuff Asus support wanted me to do. Still, I can not get the Pentium G3258 to work. It will always give me the red CPU led.  @Asus support cut me of 3 time in a row.

Anyone got a idea?

you need to flash your board to the haswell refresh

to Version 2004? It says supported since , so what I understand is, that it should also work with anything 2004+

also how are you installing these updates?

I have no OS on the board. I used the EZ Flash tool of the Bios. To install the update, I have to take my main PC apart and put the i5 into the Asus board.

Your latest bios is 2205 not 2012 http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/Z97-A/Z97-A-ASUS-2205.zip

International site is more updated then the regional one. And had that error before. Press clear cmos then wait till the fans spin up and hit the mem ok! button.

Anyone got an idea? Asus support isn't really helping.

Do you have the latest BIOS on that board? Is that BIOS somehow inferior to 2004?

When I update the Bios, does it make a completely new flash, or does it just add things like Windows update does?

Shouldn't 2103 contain all the CPU data from 2004?
