1 Drive Bay In A Laptop, need to record gameplay : WD Black2 dual drive vs an SSD

Go to solution Solved by dfsdfgfkjsefoiqzemnd,

Why would you use a laptop to record gameplay? Wouldn't it melt?

Not only that, but why would you game on a laptop to begin with?  :P

If only room for 1 drive, make it an SSD.  You don't want to read and write on a HDD at the same time.  An SSD is much better at that.

Is a dual drive or an ssd better for recording to? I heard that it's better to record to a separate drive

record to an external USB drive, and fit an SSD into the laptop for fast loading times

Yeah it means that when you are not recording (and even when you are) you are getting great performance - recording takes up lots of space, it means you can also use multiple drives , maybe one for archive, or different ones for different things as you will need tons of space

USB 3 drives are way fast enough for recording too
