the thing i'd ask is: where is your system lacking now?

i'd personally upgrade storage. i have no clue how well the cpu cooler performs, but it seems like a weak spot for me.

but honestly, if you dont know *what* to upgrade, you probably dont need an upgrade

(ps: extra monitors are ALWAYS a good idea :P )

But the Titan X has SIGNIFICANTLY lower clock speeds.

And? It performs better than two 970s in SLI. More Cores, More VRAM, slightly lower clocks (which can be OC'd).

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

What PSU, liquid cooler, and monitor are you referring to?

I would go with a Corsair H100i GTX, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181090&cm_re=h100_gtx-_-35-181-090-_-Product

Evga 850W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438030&cm_re=evga_850w-_-17-438-030-_-Product

As far as monitor go I would get the same one as you already have but its more of a personal choice

Sell the 980, get a Titan X. And with the left over, from the 980, get another monitor.

It sounds good but if he plans on getting this anytime soon then he should just get another 980  the titanX is sold out and he would have to sell his 980 to get it.

Yeah, if you dont buy it direct from nVidia, you cant get the pretty box :D.

I do agree though. If I had $1000 and a rig like this, I'd throw $1000 into my truck.

Ok? I watch his videos too but I can also pull up a video with super positive views.

What're your thoughts?

Over 4 GB of VRAM won't affect gaming performance, clock speeds are what mostly affects FPS. Similar to how in games, a 4790k outperforms a 5960x.

No, not really. In one test, Shadow of Morridor (or however its spelled) used over 6.5GB of VRAM from the Titan X.

And the 4790K only outperforms the 5960X in single core-based games. In multi-core games, the 5960X wrecks the 4970K.
