Why should you overclock your cpu if your cpu has turboboost?

If you want more power as well as bragging rights?

Turbo only goes that far. Like with 4770K its 3.9GHz. Even my slight OC is over that with 4.0GHz. And I could raise it to 4.3GHz if I had time to do stressing.

First, performance wise, some people will always need more. In gaming, cpu overclocking rarely matters. But for someone doing video editing, higer clock speed can mean significantly faster render times.

Second, OCing can be fun. To try to see at what clock speed you can push your cpu

I've had a significant performance increase when rendering videos using Handbrake with my OC.

My processor runs stock at 3GHz and boosts up to 3.5GHz. I just consider it a shame to have a good processor and waste it like that so I overclocked it to 4.5GHz and now it can really stretch its legs.
