Quick question about DDR4 & DDR3

Go to solution Solved by Interfectorem,

is that going to be using the 1150 socket?

No, according to  Wikipedia, Skylake will be using Socket LGA 1151. Also, no LGA 1150 socket CPU supports or will support DDR4 AFAIK. As for 2011-v3, I'm pretty sure it's not backwards compatible with DDR3.

Do you guys think that they will make some motherboards that use the LGA1150 socket that supports DDR4 ram or some that have the LGA2011-3 socket that support DDR3 the reason i ask is because i was thinking about making the switch to Intel and i want to have the ability to upgrade in the future and not be stuck with DDR3 but atm i don't have the funds to buy DDR4 ram
