Hi, I've just had this issue with my ram slot.

It was working perfectly fine before I touched the CMOS battery and re-mounting new thermal paste to my CPU cooler, and then it suddenly stopped working. Basically, if I put any ram into that slot, the PC boots up for 5 seconds and then restarts, and it just keeps doing it. When I removed the ram, it works normally.

I've checked both ram, and they're perfectly fine, since I used the working ram slot with both.

I've also cleaned out the ram slot with dust spray and it still does the same problem.

Any ideas around this? or my slot is damaged in this case?

Thanks!
Niwa

Not much to go wrong with them. Are you sure that is all you've done because that is strange, anyway are there any connectors broken under the slot (if you can even see them), are the metal contacts still in place within the slot?
