It's not true though its subjective, telling the op the differences like he asked would be true and helping him. Telling the op its a waist of money is a subjective opinion that he did not ask for.

Actually it's not very subjective at all. A good amp is defined by how much it doesn't distort and that can typically be measured. The subjective part would be if you are able to hear the difference of 2 amps which 99% of people won't be able to if blind tested. There are many cheaper amps that can run any headphones to a loud enough volume that spending a lot of money on an amp just doesn't make a lot of sense for most people. If you want one just to have one then great but other than that it's not all that subjective.
