bottleneck?

Go to solution Solved by SkilledRebuilds,

i am not shure thats how it works but any certain ram type i should get??

That CPU and platform used both Triple and Dual channel memory in certain motherboards...

Reply with your motherboard make/model and it's easily answered.

/LOL Didn't think...

You have 4GB now, obviously not triple channel as it's not dividable by three evenly.

DDR3 dualchannel memory would suit your motherboard... post it's model just to be sure.

I'd start at 1600Mhz DDR3 cos it's cheaper but it's up to you to go faster, there is hardly to none benefit for gaming, mainly encoding and such heavier throughput tasks that benefit slightly.

2x4GB sticks or 1x4GB stick,..

Either add onto what you have with the single 1x4GB,.........

or grab 2x4GB, remove your old, install the new.. sell the old.

It's fine no major bottleneck here, If you are look to upgrade your system i would get 8gb of ram first then get a better cpu and leave the gpu last since your res is not that hard to run game on and the 7870 is still pretty good.

Hmm... it could all be upgraded. xD first thing would be the RAM. Then... maybe the CPU?

Seriously. I think it might be worth it to just rebuild your machine.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

The lower res puts more stress on your CPU because at a lower res your asking the GPU to pump even more frames out for the lightweight task of 1366x768 compared to 1920x1080p, more frames would be displayed,..

A higher resolution or a better CPU would do your system some justice and reduce potential bottlenecks.

Memory will certainly help too, and would be the first thing I'd get,... then either the CPU/Monitor,.. which would be similar in cost to a degree if your going for higher quality parts.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
