I've been wanting to pickup a new keyboard and I really like the blank keycap and design from the Das Ultimate Keyboards.

I am looking at both the Das Keyboard Model S Ultimate and the Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate, I am just not sure if it's worth the extra 40 bucks for the 4 Ultimate.

Also I've been seeing a lot of people complaining about the quality of DasKeyboards, I've seen people report that their QC is becoming very poor. Any comments on that?

Never had one. They look really nice but seem a little overpriced to me for the features available.

I usually recommend them in one of my top 5 brands. Try Ducky or Filco or Cherry themselves for the best quality.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I haven't had any issues with my das. Depending on your typing habits, the key caps do appear to get key shine quite rapidly but the lettering itself is still extremely visible. No complaints with the MX Brown switches nor the aluminum faceplate thus far.

As for alternatives, Ducky is one you might want to consider. Depending on budget, CM Storm is another route.

I have a Ducky Shine III right now, I'm wanting to switch to a more professional look. Also I'm switching my Cherry MX Switch again from Cherry MX Red to Cherry MX Blue. I just like the blank Keycaps and design Das offers, also it's easier to get a hold of a Das Keyboards. I really do like the quality of Ducky Keyboards though, I just don't find the LEDs useful and it's always difficult to purchase one that I'm wanting.

I'm hesitant about jumping on that MAX Keyboards massdrop right now... they have Cherry MX compatible key caps that you can get blank, top-printed, or front-printed. The last option I find is highly appealing because its a hybrid keycap, aesthetically speaking. I can't say I miss my blues after switching to browns haha still tempted to try blacks though.

I've decided just to buy another ducky keyboard, I've been finding a lot of people say their quality has gone down hill after they switched manufacturers.

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I've had the Daskeyboard Model S with cherry blues, and lettered keycaps, as well as the Daskeyboard 4 Ultimate with the brown switches. I liked the Model S, but for some reason, blue switches make me hit multiple keys at once, and my typing accuracy goes down significantly, for no apparent reason. On the 4, I've recently purchased some PBT keycaps, because I'm not good enough at touch typing, and I don't type enough to justify keeping them so I'll be better at it in the long run (I can go a couple of weeks or more without touching a keyboard, and it's hard to come back into. I think that the quality on them is fine, but then again, I never had problems with either of my keyboards. I like them quite a lot, especially the dedicated media keys on the 4, but I have to say that if I were to get another keyboard soon, I would probably go for one of the Ducky units, since I can get them with PBT keycaps out of the box, and it costs pretty much the same as I have paid for this keyboard in total, if not less, depending on what I get. All I know is that I've never once used the ruler under the 4, and I really like the aluminum top plate, although I wish I could have the option to have a full aluminum body, because I'm an aluminum whore...

The new DAS 4C doesn't even have genuine cherry switches anymore, I'd say their quality is in decline.

Was actually right in the middle of watching this when I saw your post :)

Yea I did a ton of research in the company and found their quality has been going downhill since they switched manufactures in 2012-2013. I went ahead and got another Ducky keyboard.

If you start a support ticket they will reimburse you for the difference, just tell them it didn't apply for some reason.
