Having more may help if you're system is running into memory limitations, you could also allocate more to minecraft if your have more which may increase performance.

Normally with a well built platform More RAM above whats needed doesn't help.

But Java being complete shit for coding games means thats adding more Memory to the Virtual Machine means less garbage collection (Very signficant in minecraft where many variables may change rapidly) and greater FPS since you don't have to clean up RAM every 3 or 4 frames.

a little bit.  It depends on what game your not going to see a huge improvement but you will see a little bit.

4-8GB a little, anything above 16GB, no.

No, but it won't hurt to upgrade to 8GB, because that is the standard.

I don't know much about macbooks, or Minecraft, but I would imagine it being able to run on that system at the lowest possible settings.

umm i get 30 FPS with 4GB of ram ON HIGHEST SETTINS and i havent even tested 8 yet soo

Try turning settings down some.  That will likely help your FPS much more than more RAM.

Depends mostly on whether u have an APU or a CPU and dedicated gpu, is its an APU then yet, if not then no

I would go for 8. Your vram for Intel graphics is also residing in your system memory. You have less than other people with 4GBs + GPU. You probably won't get much of speed increase but it will probably help some.
