No.

Normally with a well built platform More RAM above whats needed doesn't help.

But Java being complete shit for coding games means thats adding more Memory to the Virtual Machine means less garbage collection (Very signficant in minecraft where many variables may change rapidly) and greater FPS since you don't have to clean up RAM every 3 or 4 frames.

Will ram help my FPS in games like minecraft? For example from a switch to 4GB of DDR3 1333 ram to 8GB of 1333

No, but it won't hurt to upgrade to 8GB, because that is the standard.

What does the rest of your system look like?

macbook pro 13 inch late 2011 Intel i5 built in graphics (384 MB VMEM) Came with 4GB ram installed 8GB

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

I don't know much about macbooks, or Minecraft, but I would imagine it being able to run on that system at the lowest possible settings.

Try turning settings down some.  That will likely help your FPS much more than more RAM.
