Hey guys, so before my CPU upgrade my GPU temp stayed below 70C always. After the upgrade it was still good, so I decided to replace thermal paste so that it'd be that much quieter. I replaced it with the NH-T1 that came with my NH-D15, and the temps were a bit higher, so I thought maybe I didn't put enough, or maybe too much and re-applied it. I ran Heaven for about an hour and the temps seemed good at around 69C max. Now I was just playing FC3 and noticed my system was abnormally loud, I checked the GPU temp and it was 77C with 55% fan speed. Normally it's 70C max with 40-45% fan speed. I've also noticed my CPU has gone up from a max of ~60, to a max of ~67. What's up with these sudden temp changes?

considering you reapplied the thermal paste, my guess would be either too much or too little was used (people usually put too much) or some lint or other material got in there. what did you use to clean the old paste off?

did you use isopropyl alcohol? if not i'd recommend it, the cloth alone probably won't get all the residue off. either that or it could be too much paste. although it could be that the cooler isn't tight enough on it.
