Buy a mechanical keyboard to replace that mac one. Those mac keyboards are the least comfortable keyboards I have ever found.

I can't find a mechanical KB that I really like. Money isn't the issue just I don't know what I want. I like the BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth but I feel like there might be something better out there.

The Apple KB is nice for typing. I use my laptop a lot so I wanted something that was similar.

would be better if you made it surround rather than 3 disjointed screens, trust me, surround gaming is absolutely amazing, and you will never want to go back

seriously, it's the best

surround gaming makes my head hurt.

Also my center monitor the 144hz Asus VG248QE and the two on the sides are Asus VE248H's

Using them in surround would make the center one useless.

That's the problem with mechanical keyboards, basically all of them are awesome, so it can be difficult to choose. :P

The BlackWidow Stealth uses Brown switches, a great all-around switch.  Go for it if you like it.

Most people here will praise Ducky and Filco keyboards above all others, but if you're not a keyboard addict like Slick I hardly think it matters too much.

Razer keyboards had really bad stabilizers when I tried them. Look at the stuff Cooler Master is making, it's the same OEM as Filco, but you can usually try it out in person before buying it. Definitely try out the switches in person before buying the keyboard.

Also, you could try out an IBM Model M, or a unicomp keyboard. I like  buckling spring switches best.

Yeah, costar makes great keyboards. I have a CM quickfire rapid, which cost me like $60 on sale, and it's really well made, with the switches soldered to a steel plate and everything. My only complaint is that I am too heavy handed for MX blues; I really like how they feel when I try to type softly, but I can't do that very well. The buckling springs are a lot better in that respect, and I might go out and try to find an MX green board, when they actually become available, although my problems with mx go beyond just the actuation force.

I am very heavy handed when it comes to typing, me personally, I still enjoy the blues, they are comfortable to use with the tactile response and it's lower actuation point, for me I prefer it in-game as to my older MX black keyboard, as when I snipe in BF3, I always strafe left whenever I take a shot at someone (so when I'm in a sniper stalemate, I move before he can get a shot on me) It's faster for me to do it, and I know when I actuated the key, personally I like blues, but Greens are great for someone who likes blacks for their actuation point and blues for the tactile response

btw, 500 POSTS

HELL YA

My friend got a Blackwidow Ultimate in March and it is a solid keyboard. Im not a typing enthusiast but I am looking at the cmstorm keyboards because they are affordable. I guess if I get a cheaper one and I don't like it I could just buy another one.

I noticed just now that the "W" key on the apple keyboard is starting to go. Now I actually want a new KB

iOne is Razer's OEM, and I've not heard great things about them. If you go for cooler master, you know you are getting the same OEM as Filco, although people say that the PCB on the CM storm quickfire is worse than the Filco equivalent, but I doubt that will make any kind of difference.

The switches won't bother me. I don't really have a preference.

Im mainly looking for the combination of build quality, media keys, backlight, and how good the feet are.

I don't care about how hard the keys are to press and how loud they click.

Well, the build quality on my CM storm quickfire was excellent. all the keys are soldered to a heavy steel plate, and the keyboard is heavy enough that it creates enough friction against the desk that it's hard to slide around.

If you want the ultimate keyboard with a backlight, get a Ducky shine. Those are some beautiful and well built keyboards, though quite expensive.
