What's you PSU? If it is capable the max out the power target and increase clock by 13MHz.

Even if it overclocks like a beast, it only equates to a few fps (1-5) IF THAT on that card.

Do it if you want, just keep an eye on temps,.. I see no point however...

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Increment of 13. That's how you properly OC Kepler GPUs.

yeah i know but it sounded like a 13mhz overclock is all the card can do :D

Can i push the memory a little bit and i push the core clock to 920mhz it is high ?

Ideally try only adding up to 10-15MHz at a time while letting it run a stress test. If the stress test crashes then back down by 5MHz.

Also your GPU is the Fermi variant. That's some old hardware and preferably look at a Fermi OC guide. .

FYI - coreclocks get WAY more performance than memclock increases.

So much that I'd recommend finding the MAX core clock first,..... before you even touch the memory clock, if at all actually.

DO NOT USE FURMARK EITHER

Use Uengine Valley or Heaven, do a couple of runs, if it passes, try another 5-15mhz.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

why not furmark stress test ?

Unrealistic Burn-IN and massive power draw spiked can kill cards/components, luckily modern hardware and software has some over-current protection, but I wouldn't run the risk.

Puts not only 100% load on the Core, but 100% load at the same time on the VRM/Power delivery.

The common sense approach,... test your overclock with the GAMES you intend to play.

I said Uengine Valley/Heaven because their more similar to Games than a overly-abusing-hardcore stresstester.

Any any enthusiast and you'll probably get a 80%/20% in favor of NOT using Furmark.

Furmark is completely fine for me. Then again high end cards always loved it.

OP just use Unigine Heaven or Valley.

Guys i used Unigine Heaven but i will test valley later im downloading it

so when i test it i put it to 920mhz which it is high i think it only reach 51c to 52c max and the memory is 535 the stock

Memory is using DDR. (Double data rate)

The 535mhz is actually twice that in effect, but GPU-Z reads it as before the doubling.

780Mhz core to 920Mhz is quite a jump, keep on testing... keep focusing on the core.

adding 10-15mhz at a time, do a Heaven test or two.

Passes?

Then add another 10-15Mhz, keep clocking/testing until its unstable.

Reboot, and turn it back a step or two.

DO NOT have MSI apply the OC @ boot. (set in MSI settings)

If you have a failed OC and then restart, and it applies on boot, you may lose the ability to get/stay into windows with it enabled, it may hardlock or bsod/fail.

When you find your stable MAX core clock, can't go higher, see if you can throw a bit on the memory, again.. do this last after your coreclocks.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

What if i OC too much and i put 990 over it and it black screen or BSOD what i do ?

Well if you DONT set MSI to apply overclocks on startup then all you would do is restart...

When you load windows again your back @ stock clocks.

/You can save MSI profiles as normal with the 1/2/3/4/5, just don't apply them on bootup, a tickbox in the settings page enables/disables this.

It is good on 950mhz or 1900mhz on the processor ( very high on this GPU )

so i need to push the memory i don't wanna raise the core clock too much

950Core is 950, and well done by the way :) , the memory clock is the only one that doubles numbers in effectiveness.

I'd seriously STILL keep going on the core, find its actual max.

Then back off a little and then proceed on the memoryclocks.
