Audio playback controls on keyboard/mouse not working

I have a CM Storm Quickfire TK keyboard and Logitech G502 Proteus Core mouse. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the hardware because ONLY the audio playback doesn't work. The other function keys on my keyboard (volume up/down/etc) work perfectly fine. I've bound other functions to the same mouse buttons and it works. Audio playback (play/pause/next/previous) fail to work on VLC/Itunes/Spotify.

 

I Googled this  problem and it told me it may be a problem with my Human Interface Device Service. I restarted it, made sure it was set to automatic, but it still doesn't work. At this point, I'm out of ideas. If anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!

Did you download the software from CM and Logitech on their website?

 

Yeah I did, the audio playback on my keyboard was working before IDK why it suddenly stopped working

Found something weird...

When I have a fullscreen application open, I can control the audio, but only in Spotify but not iTunes. Not sure what this means
