Ok I am on a $1500-$1650 (USD for those wondering) budget. I am wanting to build a new rig to game on and maybe some light media work such as editing photos, editing some footage from trips, and edit photos for the photo club at my school. I am wanting to go Core i7-4790k or I5-4690k. But I just cannot decide if anyone has some suggestions it is greatly appreciated.

Only he who can yeet with skeet my dood can skeet the yeet, yeet is my dood, but if skeet cannot yeet and yeet cannot skeet who is my dood?

With that budget you can do whatever you want.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

You don't need an i7 if you don't do slightly more professional stuff.

So i5.

With that budget you can do whatever you want.

Whatever you want? LOL

Not even close..

With that kind of budget you can get a Core i7, GTX 980, 16GB of high end ram, SSD...

it seems like you already have an machine with i5 in it. In my opinion, for it to be worth an upgrade or new system, go for the i7.

else try to see what gpu can fit inside your small itx computer and it should improve your gaming performance by a lot.

With that $1500 budget are you including your monitors and peripherals too?? if it was an $1500 budget for only the tower, definitely go for the i7 4790k, and probably a gtx 970 or r9 290. (maybe nvidia route if you are using adobe or w/e editing software)

And that is not "Whatever you want".

Not even if you go with consumer stuff.

Let me make a build with an i7 5960X, a GTX 980 and oh.. Over the 1500 dollars budget already with CPU + GPU :(

OK what would a good GPU be? Is SLI something I should look into

I dont think sli is needed. from most of linus's videos he thinks 1 high end gpu is better than 2x lower gpus.

I'd say get 1 gpu for now. but if you feel like you need more graphics power. then get the 2nd one in future.

Well you're right but I am talking two GTX 970s

yes for 1440p gaming if you want to run high settings at 60FPS in modern games you do need dual higher-end cards like GTX 970 SLI or R9 290X crossfire...as for the CPU your sig says you have a i5-4430 so why not using that? it's still a strong CPU that will not chocke your GPU's at 1440p resolution and it should be more than capable of editing photos and what not...

Okay then yes go with i7 4790k, get either 1 gtx980, or 2 gtx970. and get at least 16gb ram, get a decent mobo, high end psu since you might have 2x gpus, and whichever case you like best. :D yeah $1500 budget is awesome. Im going to have one of these budget in the summer time. Im just saving now :P
