Recommendation for a good PC build! ($720~tower, $1300~whole build)

A friend asked me what I would buy for myself if money is an issue. Decided to use only newegg so you may find it cheaper or more expensive in other places. Also pricing is only available for the day I'm writing this as I left the price with all offers and discounts included.

11-853-004-01.jpgDeepcool Tesseract (nice looking case for really cheap) ~ $31.99

17-438-014-17.jpgEVGA 600W 80+ Bronze (bronze certified, anything lower is unacceptable in my opinion) ~ $64.99

13-128-689-02.jpgGigabyte GA-F2A78M-D3H FM2+ (dark colored motherboard fits inside of case color with 4 slots for RAM for future upgrade) ~ $63.99

19-113-379-01.jpgAMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz (cheapest four core CPU, better than 850K) ~ $79.99

14-127-789-03.jpgMSI R9 280 (nothing to add, good GPU will last you long on 1080p. You could re-paint the red side into white to fit case and RAM) ~ $189.99

20-104-472-03.jpgHyperX Fury White 8GB (2x4GB) 1866MHz (fits with case's outside color, can be found in black too. 8GB should be enough but you can easily add 16GB later on) ~ $69.99

20-147-372-07.jpgSamsung 850 Evo 250GB (worth all your money, 120GB would be enough for windows and many programs but you'll want to have some main games you play on this SSD so 250GB should be considered over 120. Also having the OS on a separate drive than your main can extend your main drives life with months if not years) ~ $124.99

22-236-343-07.jpg2TB WD Red HDD (red drives are most reliable in the affordable section of HDD's and you data and files are the only thing you surely don't want to lose. Also 2TB should be enough for a long while) ~ $95.99

Total so far: $721.92

Peripherals:

24-236-335-06.jpgAsus VN248H-P 23.8" IPS 1080p (+IPS monitor, -1080p, +cheap. Honestly I'd get a 1440p IPS monitor but have you seen the prices? xD so yeah 1080p) ~ $179.99

23-816-020-05.jpgCorsair K70 Mechanical Cherry MX Brown with red backlight (would have gone for the RGB K95 but price difference is quite big so I decided to this one. Awesome build quality, comes from corsair. Brown switches to be a good all around for typers and gamers too. Keyboards go by preference though) ~ $129.95

A4FT_1_20150123165553103.jpgLogitech G300S (a good all around mouse, ergonomic and has some buttons you can bind to stuff that until now you may have not even thought of using as. But as keyboards, each with their own preference) ~ $42.66

26-249-036-07.jpgSteelSeries Siberia v2 (good quality headsets, microphone included but just like keyboards and mice you'll choose one depending on your preferences) ~ $90.51

Peripherals total: $443.11 (oh about the price of a good IPS 1440p screen but you also get mouse, keyboard, headset in this price which would add onto that 1440p screen)

Software:

32-416-778-02.jpgWindows 8.1 Pro 64bit (ugh.. I guess you need this too  <_<) ~ $139.99

Grand total: $1,305.02

So what do you guys think? What would you change? If it really would be for myself I might go with the Corsair 750D case but otherwise I could settle for this setup.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12; GPU: GeForce RTX 3080 Gigabyte Vision OC V2 10GB; PSU: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified; RAM: 4x32GB (w/RGB xd); SSD: 1xM.2 Samsung 980 Pro 1TB, 1xM.2 Samsung 970 Pro 1TB, 1xWD 6TB HDD; OS: 10; Monitor: 2xAorus IPS 27" (2560x1400)Keyboard: Corsair K95; Mouse: Mionix Naos 7000 w/ Steelseries QcK mousepad.

Laptop - HP Omen 15" w/5800U, GPU 3070, 1TB M.2 WD Black, 16GB RAM.

get windows off g2a.com for like $20, and yes they're legit.

try the cougar 700k keyboard, i own one and its awesome, very well build and much cheaper than the k70, and then you can spend some more money on either getting a better cpu build in the a8 series or getting an r9 290 maybe.

Don't buy a headset also, get a blue snowball and a normal pair of headphones from sennheiser = x10 better, means you getting better sound quality, they both last longer in the long run and no one complains about sound quality.

Yeah but you added a blue drive from WD.. have you ever had drive failures and no money for a new drive? I can ensure you the red one will last much longer even with the os on it. Also my setup has an ssd included which I wouldn't go without after getting one.

Though I must agree the 4690k, r9 290 and corsair 750W bronze certified are a better choice but then you lose 1TB space, SSD, and the case.. already $850 just for the tower (with case, ssd, 2tb drive).

only problem with this is no SSD... maybe add one to it and then that is perfect.

im guessing your planning on taking old stuff from your old computer into the new one?

Also i mean a lot of those peripherals like windows you can save a lot of money on so that should help you.

my blue drive has been running strong for the past 5 years

Oh so you are lucky.. that is not safe though to say that it's the same for everyone, and by what I know blue's are less reliable in the writing many times on it over time. I have 3 drives, the Seagate 2TB died 7 months after purchase, revived it but don't trust it. Also it vomits data after filling it over a certain amount. Green drive started to die now after buying it in september 2009 it also had the OS on it. And the red drive runs ever since purchase. No issues yet but it's fairly new.

Yeah I don't really need it as I got mine from university. But thx for the tip, now I know where to send people for windows.

Keyboard.. doesn't matter how awesome it is. It's a preference of who likes what.. I absolutely love the K95 RGB and would get anyway, I just didn't want to add that to this list :D. As of headset I just added it for anyone wandering around for what they should buy. I have a SS 7H myself wish I had bought something from sennheiser... these suck in build quality but microphone and sound quality is awesome!!

Nope, it's a build for my friend he asked me what I would buy so I looked around, thought I'd share. What I would buy is too far from today to list here >.> and yeah I'd take my drives into the new pc. (what I mean by that? 5920x build)

Why are you only going with newegg? Try going with other sites like amazon, ncix, etc...
