Now if you could just give it a coppered effect to the brass in parts and have a metal sprung cable then it would look awesome, although as techswede has said, you'd need a steampunk setup for it to look the best. And without it it will be a bitch to get through the material I think there are rigs which allow you to turn hand drills into a kind of drill press. Best of luck in your endeavours!
