Well I embarked on an adventure today.

I opened up my powermac g4 cube.

specs of mine, 500mhz ppc processor, ati Rage 128mb pro, 123.5gb hard drive, and somewhere around 512mb of ram.

The pics:

The cube itself, with almost everything out

Hidden 90 or 92mm fan mount, when no models of the cube ever came with a fan. Apple asking for modders on their computers??????

All the parts:

apple should have stuck with PPC a while longer

IBM did eventually kick ass

then we would have a even worse apple monopoly type thing.

They wouldent have to rely on intel.

No hackintoshing.

Ahh the PowerMac G4 Cube, Fantastically built little computer but in this machines case you were paying more for looks as the PowerMac G4 at the time was more powerful, much more expandable and cheaper. Due to this the machine failed but was a good test bed for the MacMini.

PPC Was dead when the PowerPC G5 had such power requirements that putting it into a laptop was stupid and as Intel had just come out with its Core Duo and Core Solo both being much more power efficient than both the G4 and G5 could ever hope to be.

Main Machine:  16 inch MacBook Pro (2021), Apple M1 Pro (10 CPU, 16 GPU Core), 512GB SDD, 16GB RAM

Gaming Machine:  Acer Nitro 5, Core i7 10750H, RTX 3060 (L) 6GB, 1TB SSD (Boot), 2TB SSD (Storage), 32GB DDR4 RAM

Other Tech: iPhone 15 Pro Max, Series 6 Apple Watch (LTE), AirPods Max, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360

Network Gear:  TP Link Gigabit 24 Port Switch, TP-Link Deco M4 Mesh Wi-Fi, M1 MacMini File & Media Server with 8TB of RAID 1 Storage

Damn dude, don't post porn on here! :P

Apple's computer designs in the 1999-2004 era were works of art. One day I'll get my hands on them all and build a nice shelf to put them on. I have my iMac G4, but I want to get the later 24" model, and a G4 cube, plus a 12" PowerBook.

Not to mention these insane speakers, which were a high-end option around 2005-2007 (and are apparently still sold). They're supposed to sound pretty great!

My school has like 30 pairs of those throughoit the district. Makes me mad. Why would the school need those for simple classes and such.

Damn!

Looking at reviews, people still say they're still one of the best 2.1 systems, even 10 years later. I really want them :D

I've heard them, but I haven't really listened to them. They look really cool tho.
