More specifically though, a G400 and pretty much whatever keyboard, preferably mechanical.

A good optical mouse with a "perfect" sensor like the Avago ADNS-3310 sensor.

 

+

 

A mechanical keyboard with your choice of Cherry MX switches

 

+ Good over the ear headphones.

Depends a lot on the games and the person. There are some games that are better on contrller, but even those, and everything else is just fine or even optimal on a KB+M
