Chipset V Cpu?

I was looking for the specs of the 2013 moto g and i found something confusing. It says the chipset is a snapdragon 400, and i thought the chipset included the cpu (at least on mobile not desktop) but then it says the cpu is a Cortex a7 quad core...?

Several system-on-chips (SoC) have implemented the Cortex-A7 core, including:

• Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 and Snapdragon 400 MSM8212 and MSM8612, MSM8226 and MSM8626 (quad core A7 + Adreno 305 GPU)

The core is part of the SoC not the whole thing.

There's a Cortex A7 quad core inside the Snapdragon 400, along with GPU, modem etc.
