Hi so i am in high school right now and everyone in my school is into trashy mainstream djs like steve aoki and they think that beats are good headphones.   I mean it just gets me so angry when the see my audio stuff like my beyerdynamic and my audio technicas and they say they are so ugly and that it sucks.   Also why do people like to listen to the mainstream music? It is so trash, i mean like most djs just get some beats and make the bass really loud.   Plus when they go to concerts they don't even do a live mix. Instead they press play on their playlist and stand there.   That gives them time to do whatever they want like scratch their butt or something.   I think that really good musicians are on youtube ex. monstercat.   Anyone with me?   Oh and do you think there is any chance that I am able to meet someone who gets this and understands me? Thanks so much of u read this

You're in high school, so that's the typical consensus.

 

That's cool that you know what sounds good, but you also don't have to worry about what everyone else is doing. The only thing I'd be angry about with you is my gear being called trash because everyone else is worried more about looks than functionality.

everyone has diffrent  tastes. why is yours magically better?

 

I love my punk, rap, trap, depends on my mood. sometimes I just want a pump up song. 

 

listen to till I die by MGK. thats my pump up song. Love it to death. it has meaning

i mean like those crappy mainstream djs, pop, and rap music... Its always about money, sex, and idolizing materialistic things

maybe you need to listen to more rap before you just generalize it all. 

 

Music that was made with meaning and passion from the artist.  but i like electro and dance.   I've listened to plenty of rap and I'm talking about the mainstream rap right now.

look up MGK. listen to some of his music. some of its the typical pump up songs, but a lot of it has deep meanings.

Funnily enough, Nickelback was the band which set me on the path, which has brought me to thrash/prog metal. Growing up, every bugger was listening to Top Of The Pops, or 50cent/eminem.

hell yeah. dude I got 3 buddies that have custom built pcs in my 6th hour alone. It pisses them off that my system is faster. for music? thats easy. just talk to new people.

Fun fact: I think 97% of electronic music is shit....

 

I kinda get what you say, i'm used to very long lyrics, people around me don't understand why. Waht i want from music is:

 

1.- Lyrics that say something.

2.- Coherent rythm.

3.- Dem feelings...

 

Some of my personal favs are:

 

Ali Project

Louna

Charles Aznavour

Francis Cabrel

Meat Loaf

Faylan

Rammstein

Irene Grandi

Muse...etc...

 

I tend to get an album just for one single song :P

You made me look up the lyrics for that song now. They're actually criticizing economical inequality, which made me gain respect for Pink Floyd. I've never actually bothered to pay attention to the lyrics of their songs before, but I should probably start doing that.

There's a lot of intelegent music out there, I suggest you stop looking at everyone elses interests and start looking for some good music, there is A LOT of great musicians, a lot of really crazy artists, you are runnning out of time, there's so much to cover.
