Corsair RM850 will be enough to run my system ?

Go to solution Solved by typographie,

Man i already bought Corsair RM850 & R9 295X2   :( , i really wanted to go with EVGA but got this from friend brand new for 50 bucks  :( - just wanted to know if my pus will support all the parts i got  or should i just sell this pus and buy 1000W from EVGA or some other company.

Corsair's RM series is fine, though the consensus is that they're a bit overpriced. EVGA power supplies are great, and would have been the recommendation if you were buying new, but it's not like Corsair's quality is ever really in question. If you got a cheap Corsair RM850, I don't see any problem.

^^ Some charts measuring total system power consumption using an R9 295X2 and an i7-4960X which may give you a good idea of what to expect. Short answer is that while 650+ Watts of power consumption is crazy, a quality 850 Watt PSU can easily keep up.

WILL i be able to run AMD R9 295x2 and all other components which are included in picture without overlocking anything else as i already bought 850 watt pus from corsair.

More than enough, but there are better PSUs -- such as an EVGA G2 850w as it's a higher quality psu with a better/longer warranty for less money.

I'd also go for two 290x's and save $150~.

It is enough. But why did you choose 8.1 Pro?

Yeah, it'll work just fine. But, as stated by @djdwosk97, I'd get an EVGA PSU instead, such as the 850G2.

Get the standard Windows 8.1. It will also be upgraded to 10.

If you already have it, then there's no problem. It'll run you well.

So i got everything setup like gpu & cpu - front panel on/off, 2 fans, to my x99 deluxe motherboard. But no ram at all (because i haven't received it yet) i was trying to test everything but nothing will power up except reset and power light on motherboard.... everything is connected where it suppose to.

so do i really need ram to turn everything on or is their something defective with my motherboard.

Yes. You can't POST (Power On Self Test) without RAM installed. X99 require CPU, RAM, GPU and PSU to POST and get into BIOS.

You've got a nice friend. That's a steal for a RM850.

i have tested with antac psu which i got from my friend to test and everything worked fine (without Any RAM) which proves i had a bad power supply (click every  time i plug in & you dont need ram to post x99 deluxe motherboard ) as motherboard will work along with other components but "MEM OK" light will glow.

You made it into BIOS without RAM?
