Bottleneck

Hey guys let me ask you a question. So I'm planning to buy this rig:

• EVGA GTX 970 FTW ACX2.0 
• MSI Z97M-Gaming
• 8 GB Corsair VengeANCE 1600 MHz
• i5 4670k
• Some SSD, Caviar Black HDD, Corsair 350 D, XFX XTR 550 w PSU...etc

So my question is about the processor. Will it Bottleneck the GPU or should I pick an i7 instead? Is it enough for BF4 ot does the i7 make sense as far as gaming goes?

I would advise the small price increase and get the i5 4690k.

 

Not for bottleneck issues, but just for that little extra kick.

I'm a big i7 fan now that games are starting to be optimized toward the octacore consoles, but an i5-4670k will definitely drive a GTX 970 really well. But if you want an unlocked i5, you should buy the i5-4690k for the better thermals on average, and thus better overclocks on average than the i5-4670k. The i5-4670k has too big a gap between the heat spreader and the TIM material on the core that cause it to run hotter on average than does an i5-4690k, where this problem was fixed.
