didn't the 840 series currently have some firmware problems that caused slowdown? 

 

other than that the 850 is faster. 

 

I have the 850 evo and I like it

Yes but they promised an update of the firmware in March, so we'll have to see if it improves.

if he wants to buy now he could just go for the faster and not affected version. it's 10$ more for something that has higher performance and less problems.

That just so funny, the link i have posted shows that the  850 Evo is cheaper

That just so funny, the link i have posted shows that the  850 Evo is cheaper 

 

looks like that site reads the local prizes :) for me (in germany) it was a 10$ difference with the 850 costing more

The 850 is cheaper where i am, the reason i asked the question is that i have an 840 and want to get a second ssd and was wondering if its worth is to spend more money and get 2 850s or just get another 840.

okey like that. yes personaly i would keep the 840 and buy another 850.

Do not buy 840evo. Don't support products with serious design flaws.

Heyvi was going to buy another 256gb 840 evo to raid 0 with my other one.... you ate making me dought if this would be a good decision. Any suggestions for a better drive to raid 0 that is very reliable???
