Sorry if its been posted before but i have not been able to find a solid answer yet.

This build will be for some gaming (H1Z1, GTA 5, battlefield) light photoshop/lightroom and a lot of media streaming.

Im looking at a 4790k and an asus z97-A board.

I havent seen any specification on the boards RAM voltage specs.

Im thinking about running some G-skill Trident X series 2400MHz but not sure if the board can handle the 1.65 voltage.

Will i be ok running that voltage or should i stick with 1.5?

Thanks

Its fine. 1.5v is what Intel reccomends, but you can go above with no trouble.

It's more of a specification that covers their butts than just a recommendation but it's been confirmed by Intel employees that 1.65v works just fine.

Yeah, either way. I've run RAM at 1.65 overclocked on my board and I've run into no issues. Hasn't this been a thing since Z77, or even earlier than that?

Earlier but I'm not sure when exactly.
