looking for new psu

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

6950 here it takes 200w and they recommend 30a (+ mobo and stuff though on 12v right? got a x4 760 cpu)

would also like to be able to flash it to a 6970

6970 has 250W TDP so take that as max power draw for your GPU. Add on ~100W for CPU and ~100 for the rest and you're at 450W maximum. Any decent 500W or higher will be perfect for you.

I wouldn't go with the EVGA or Corsair CX PSUs that everyone recommends in this wattage range though. Spend a bit more and get yourself a quality unit built by a reputable OEM.

This Seasonic-made unit would be perfect. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9

Hey, I'm looking for a psu that has a 12v rail that can accommodate a heavy wattage gpu. They recommend 30A on the 12v, but the 12v also is the mobo plug correct? so what amp am I looking for?

also, any recommendations for around 40$ would be ideal :)

I mean any reputable brand (SeaSonic, Thermaltake, Corsair, EVGA) with 2x 12v rails should cover it I think. BTW what GPU?
