How do I fill it?

Go to solution Solved by TheKDub,

I know...

But if I think that the liquid won't reach the rad, because Physics, but if it does, fuck Physics.

You'll have to have the rad below the waterblock when filling it, possibly needing to turn the pump on then off to move the liquid into the reservoir. (Be sure to bleed the loop of all air as much as possible!)

Hey guys :D

I'm a noob when it comes to water cooling, but I bought the Alphacool Eisberg 120 and my question is, how do I fill it?

40194-1.jpg

Im asking this because the filling "hole" is in the pump...

Help me please, because it might arrive today, and I cant install it without the liquid  (I bought the liquid as well, EK Ekoolant Clear Premix 1000mL)

Thanks :)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the manual probably covers that :P

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Oh ok. Thank you. I thought that it would.

Anyways, should I just shove a funnel into the "hole" and throw the liquid at it?

/jk :P

fill it before you put it in your case, test it for 24 at least!

I will fill it before putting it into the case, don't worry, but 24h??? Jesus. I have to sleep and I have to go to school. Fuuuuuck

Lol, as long as you're careful you can't really screw it up.

I'd suggest using the stock cooler on your rig for a day or so, then have the aio outside the case running just to make sure that it doesn't leak at all, and that will also help loosen up some more of the bubbles that may be hiding.

Ok so I looked it up and apparently it comes pre-filled with water?

The store I bought it sells it dry

They are stealing the liquid! xD

I don't care that much, since I'll get the experience and the opportunity to fuck it all up

I'll do that. Use some Molex to 3 pin adaptor, connect them to the PSU, start the PC and connect the pump to it, right?

Like how this guy did:

Yeah, that would work.

Or if you have a spare psu laying around like I do (I actually have two from old pcs, and two more old pcs that I could take them from too, though im using one to host a minecraft server) you could use that, and just jump start it with a paperclip in certain spots of the 24 pin. (I've done it before, its not that hard)

I also have 2 old PCs, and their PSUs work just fine, so I'll probably use them.

About the paperclip, do I just jump 2 random pins or are there specific ones? If so, what are them?

There is one specific pin you have to use, then the other just has to be a certain color, though its been so long that I have forgotten what they are...

Don't worry. I'll probably turn on the PC and use the Molex to 3 pin adaptors ;)
