I'd explain it, but I think patrickjmt does it better. You can use integrating factors to solve first order differential equations.

Its quite simple..

Use Integrating factors .

Just divide the whole equation by L.

Then you will get a differential equation of this form :-

dy/dx +Py = Q.

IF = e^|pdx.

Then multiply both the sides by IF .

Then the solution of differential equation is :-

P.IF = |Q.IF dx + c.

:) ..

I'm using " | " for integration sign ... :blink:

There are more outrageous problems in my textbook ... :blink:

 

It's pretty clear that you're quite good at math, it's easy to tell other's that something that comes natural to you isn't hard. :P
