48 degrees C at idle?

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

I have the tri-x cooler on it! Oh wow... LOL

Hmmm my card hits tops 72 C while playing CSGO (Which is what i usually play nowadays...) Is that okay?

72C during load on an overclocked 290X is pretty good and it most likely has to do with the design of that Tri-X cooler, nothing to really worry about once you start going into the 85-90C then there's something wrong, but the card will throttle down to protect itself from cooking.

Hey guys is this normal? I live in singapore (the ambient is 30 C minimum) and i have my Tri-X 290x OCed.

While i am at it how is my OC on a 290x? (I personally think that it is pretty bad....)

That's pretty normal for a 290X especially if it's a reference cooler that's not too bad with fairly warm ambient temps, older generation of cards used it idle at around +50C.

That's not too bad, but idle temps don't matter, only load temps.
