How should decide which tubing and fittings I need in a water cooled PC?

I believe you need to purchase a specific Strix backplate. It is linked on the block page but leads to a 404. EK Luc should be able to help with that.

 

As for tubing and fittings, the Watercooling FAQ has quite a comprehensive section on them.

Primochill Primoflex tubing is awesome.
I use bitspower fittings myself.

The most important thing is the size of the tubing. Mostly looks though, half inch or 5/8's OD is what I find to look good and work well.

First figure out what tubing size you want to use. 

 

Second, decide if you want to use barb or compression fittings. Functionally, they're pretty much the same. Barbs are much cheaper, and compression fittings look nicer.

 

Keep in mind, you'll need quite a few fittings for a custom loop (two for each length of tube), and the costs add up quick, especially with compression fittings.
