It positively affects gaming, that is what my friends say.

W 8.1 > W 7

 

But with Windows 10 coming I would wait though..

For me, yes there's a difference. I've seen 2-3 fps average increases in some games but a negligible difference in others. Borederlands 2 actually performs better under 7. It's a pretty mixed bag. One thing that's undeniable though is that, even though ugly, Windows 8.1 is a faster, smoother OS then 7.

win8.1 uses less system resources than win7, so theoreticly win8.1 is better for gaming.

Windows 8 is better now FML just reimaged comp and thought 7 was faster from what i had heard
