Im still sitting on Windows 7 and uncle google said, opinions are mixed.

So how is it people, does it affect?

It positively affects gaming, that is what my friends say.

W 8.1 > W 7

 

But with Windows 10 coming I would wait though..

For me, yes there's a difference. I've seen 2-3 fps average increases in some games but a negligible difference in others. Borederlands 2 actually performs better under 7. It's a pretty mixed bag. One thing that's undeniable though is that, even though ugly, Windows 8.1 is a faster, smoother OS then 7.
