well idk any other good card or i could get titan blacks thanks man :)

We already told you which cards you should get: either 2 R9 290Xs (although you said you don't want them) or 2 970s. The 970s are nvidia cards.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

but gts 970s got like 3.5 gb

It doesn't matter almost at all for now. By the time it matters you'll already have upgraded to something much better with the money you spared by not getting 980s. And it has 4gb, the last 0.5 is just slower. @othertomperson can tell you more about this, he is running 4k on 2 970s himself.

That's an important point, I think. You should go into 4K because it's a great experience right now. Going in expecting to have the same experience two years down the line on the same GPUs, I think, would be a mistake. If you really wanted to you could SLI four Titan Blacks, run them at 1080p and call it futureproof. I don't recommend you do, but 4K doesn't really have that option. Right now very few games need the full 4GB at 4K. Maybe in the future they will, but I think you're right in saying that by the time that becomes an issue you're going to be wanting to upgrade at any rate; and that's going to be just as true if you get 970s, 8GB 290Xs or Titan Blacks.

Nooo don't get a Titan Black for gaming.

Actually 4K is one of the few times when the Titan Black actually makes a modicum of sense. The 780 Ti is still one of the fastest gaming GPUs out there, but doesn't have enough vram for 4K. The 6GB 780 Ti or the Titan Black is the best solution for 4K, but not the best value for money. We are talking £1600 for something that performs slightly better than something that costs £500, mind, but it's not an option I would dismiss entirely.

Imo it makes the most sense to get either two 970s or two 290Xs, depending on which is cheapest for you. But there are better solutions if you don't mind paying for them.

I would take a couple of 290X cards or a R9 295X2 over a Titan Black for 4K and save a few hundred quid in the bargain. I don't think Titan Blacks are readily available anymore are they ?

Also this link shows that an 8GB card doesn't make a much difference over a 4GB card at 4K (Currently)

Oh so would I. But it's only when you consider the money that the 970 or 290X becomes the more sensible solution. Objectively, and with only performance in mind, Titan Black SLI (or 6GB 780 TI SLI) is the best solution available right now.

The point of the Titan Black isn't that it has 6GB vram. It's that it is essentially a 780 Ti with more than 3, and I can see 3GB limiting the 780 Ti at 4K. I agree that more than 4 doesn't make too much difference as of right now.

How about an AMD card ?   :D

Seriously though I don't think Titan Blacks are that easy to get hold of anymore (I might be wrong) and they were expensive when they were available. I would stick with the 980.

you should ream previous stuff i wrote cuz i mentioned alot of time no AMD card xD
