Okay so I just bought my first pair of decent headphones, the ATH-M50x.

On the website it says the impedance is 38 ohms, can a phone power that?  Or do I need an amp to get better sound?

This question might not make any sense because, like I said, i'm a new to this.

Thanks

You don't need an AMP for your phone. I have seen quite some reviews and always saw them directly plugging in the headphones into the phone.
