Best CPU for gaming

My current CPU is an FX4130 and i think its time for a change, i think i should get an i5 (or the equivalent on AMD) but i have no idea wich one.

My budget is around 300 USD.

It's the best gaming CPU at the moment. If you want more performance, a cheap Hyper 212 Evo + Overclocking will work great

Id say just upgrade to 8350/8320

well if you overclock get the i5 4690K+z97 mobo. if not and also what i recommend is the i5 4460+ cheap b85/h97 mobo

If you live near a Microcenter you can buy a bundle Z97 mobo + i5 for just over $300 after tax.

 

Avoid AMD for gaming until they get it together.

If you're in the US, Microcenter has the i5 4690K for $200. You can pick up a Z97 board for around $100.

If you still want to get AMD then you should get FX 8350, but if you want to switch to Intel (which is better) you should get like i5 4690K (need to change the motherboard as well).

Best CPU for gaming is probably an overclocked i7-5960x.

i5 4460 and an H97 motherboard if you don't do any overclocking. That's what I have and I love it so far.
