"Low FPS" In CS:GO

Hey LTT

 

I got a problem,

 

Im currently having FPS issues in CSGO with my 980.

On most maps i average 150-200fps with everything on low and in 1080p.

Some maps i drop down to 70-100fps, and thats on smaller maps.

 

My problem is that one of my mates with a 3570K and 680 with the same settings is getting 250+ stable FPS.

 

So can you help me?

 

Special info: System is a 4670K, 980 Strix, 8gb Ram, game is on my SSD, temps on all components doesn't exceed 62 degrees (due to strix fan-profile) CPU doesn't hit 55 degrees. 

 

Need some help here.

 

And yes it DOES matter :D

Try add some crazy AA filter or downsample it.

He's either got a custom config, or possibly OC'd his cpu?

i hate to say it but it sounds like (as mental as this may be ) thtat this dude may be right. make sure your ONLY connection to your monitor is from your graphics card itself, and check your bios for primary graphics output

iGPU for sure. Or u got some stupidly old gpu drivers (unlikely).

@megaemil

Your VGA/DVI cable from monitor must be plugged to GPU I/O, not motherboard I/O.

To make sure, u can disable iGPU in bios.

Have a look at your Nvidia control panel (i hope u have one heh).

U know nothing about GPUs and CS:GO requirements Sire.

It has nothing to do with game settings or cpu overclocking.

Are you stating that overclocking a cpu, or using a custom config does not impact the framerate?

In THIS particular case, YES, thats what im saying. CS:GO is low demanding game. Anything over i5-4440 and gtx 760 is overkill for it ;)

If my i7 and gtx 760 xan run the game over 200fps at all times then theres something super wrong with a system that has 980 in it.

i remember when i played cs 1.6 with ~40fps on my old laptop on crowded servers with plugins. Good old ti... nope fuck that shit.

I remember when i couldnt have 100fps in 1.6 because i didnt have nvidia card heh. Old days :)

To reply to as many as possible, im not a techie dumbass (meaning i do know what i'm doing).

 

Off course i'm not using the iGPU i'm lead technician at the local highschool, i got people who are getting paid under me, and i'm a student 18 years old.

With that outta the way. My friend and i are running exactly the same settings, i'm not aware if he is running a custom config file, i don't. My CPU sits at 4.5Ghz and the GPU runs at 1480/7250Mhz it's rocksolid OC. So i know it's not the settings it's definitely not the hardware, framerate doesnt change much because of the OC.

My friends PC is all standard. Drivers are the newest from Nvidia.

 

Should i try a custom config file?

 

EDIT: So i tried a custom config im steady at 280fps+ so it helped alot thx for your advice

Even I get 270-300 FPS with my overclocked R9 280, with everything maxed out and all the filters on max :D

I get 200-300 fps on any map maxed out with 4x MSAA.
