AMD 6870?

I've got a friend who has 2 6870's (2 GB versions) he said he'll sell me one for £55. Is that a good price? If so, I'm gonna add it to my other PC.

No, I sold 7850's, 2gigs for $60. Other people do to. I dont think the 6870s are worth anything...

Yes R7 260X is a better card. I've got an older PC with Q6600 PC with an 8800GTS which my brother uses.

Ok, I was basing off the specs in your profile. It still feels a bit high considering a brand new 260 is 20-30 more which beats it in power, and has support for the newer technologies like Mantle. Nor DirectX12 unless this article is incorrect.

That means nearly every GTX 400, 500, and 600 series card will be supported. Interestingly, AMD isn’t necessarily following suit — the company has indicated that it will support DX12 on all GCN-based hardware, but hasn’t indicated if HD 6000 or HD 5000 cards will be included in that."

It would fit in the PCIe slot the 8800 is currently using. Power and case room permitting is the main issue.

Ok, I don't see the r7 260 being bigger than a 8800. So I'd see if the psu is 350+ watts.
