far cry 4 patch destroyed my framerate

I just lunched far cry 4 for the first time in a month and I noticed that my framerate was much lower then it used to be. I was at one place were I used to get 80-85 fps and now i'm at about 55 fps. My computer has a gtx 980, a 4790k and 16gb of ram. so that's not the problem. I also checked the load on my GPU and it was pinned at 100%. There was also no big program running in the background that could of cause the problem. I was wondering if they had released a patch recently that could of caused that problem.

anyway thanks!!

Sounds a typical de-optimization patch from ubisoft.

Well they kinda improved Unity with patches right?

No idea, last ubisoft game I played was black flag(not that long ago) but still. Apparently far cry 4 still has SLI issues, creating texture flicker, total biscuit was talking about it on the lastest co-optional podcast

Wow that's pretty bad... especially for a 980..

I'm gonna sound like a complete crazy person here but maybe consider lowering the graphics settings just a tiny bit to increase performance.

But you have a 980, how in the world would you be getting 55 fps at any point, that is absurd.

What resolution are you playing at?

Hardware: 4790k @ 4.6 GHz w/ H100i - MSI GTX 970 - Define R5 - MSI Z97 PC Mate - 840 EVO - G.Skill 2x4 GB

Peripherals: G402 - ATH-AD700x - Asus VG248QE 144 hz

Check the graphics options? The last time I played FC4 (about a week or so ago), my performance had improved by a small amount.

Last I checked, MSAA and TXAA were still horribly broken (massive hit on framerate), but SMAA runs decently well.

Edit: i7-4770K, single GTX 980, 8 GB RAM, SSD.

FC4 is running at 1440p, High settings (one or two things ultra), SMAA, locked to 60.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

I didn't found the problem but I found how to fix it. I lowered all the settings down and then manually put them all back up one by one to were they were at before and that fixed my framerate issue.

Ubisoft- "make pc games perform more like console version after every patch"

Fixed.

Anyone who has a sister hates the fact that his sister isn't Kasugano Sora.
Anyone who does not have a sister hates the fact that Kasugano Sora isn't his sister.
I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just being condescending. There is a difference, you see...

Well they kinda improved Unity with patches right?

When they improved Unity with patch 1.6, I Believe they destroyed SLI optimization and made every texture and puddle flicker like crazy. In a sense, yes- they did improve framefrates but the flickering is jsut horrible...
