Hangouts Problem.

I have a Nexus 5 with Lolipop. When I open Hangouts, all of my conversations are there, but when I click on them to send an SMS, it's blank and I can't click on the body or the area where you input the message.

This just happened. It was working fine, then failed to send messages (I'd hit send, they'd disappear as though sent, but not appear in the conversation), and now it just doesn't work at all.

 

This happened to anyone else?
I really don't want to uninstall it or have to wipe the phone.

You see, the problem is USING hangouts

Id suggest another app if hangout has issues

I also use a nexus 5 with lollipop

I haven't been a huge fan of any of the other ones.

Any suggestions on decent ones that don't have a lot of over the top fruity stuff?

It fixed itself after the fourth restart. Hopefully. I'll check it again in the morning.

Restarting it 4 times worked. Hopefully it sticks.

How does one clear the app cache though?

Go into settings to the apps. There should be a list of all your apps. Go on Hangouts and there should be a option clear cache.

Never had issues with hangouts so far.

9 of 10 voices in my mind say I'm crazy. The tenth hums the melody of Tetris.

Go to settings, apps, find it, scroll down and clear cache
