I have this Exact card. I am half tempted to sell to you, but to be honest, I'm not all that interested and would need some huge convincing.

See, heres my upgrade process:

Sell old card, buy the new version. Currently, there is the GTX980. The performance at 1080P or 1440P is not enough to want to upgrade (in fact....there isnt much of an upgrade in most benchmarks), and the 980ti does not exist yet.

So, I'm in the same boat as you. I will either be buying another 780ti when the 980ti is released and I can find one for $250 or less, or buying the 980ti.

What are the other specs of your computer?

You are going to want to upgrade the CPU, not GPU.

I would have thought it would be enough. But with shaders I guess it taxes the GPU a lot.

I guess the only option to get better performance is to get a second card, but I can't guarantee it will actually help much as MC isn't the best optimised thing for multi GPU and with shader mods too, the chances are the improvements could be negligible.

I suggest you search around on different forums, asking about multi GPU performance in Minecraft with the specific shaders you use.

The first step to insanity is believing in your sanity.
