Does the pcie x4 gen 2/3 SSD and not the sata/pcie adapter cards, boot the OS any faster than a top tier sata SSD like the 850EVO?

I want to buy the plextor m6e black but i am not sure if it is worth the extra dollars over the 850evo,.

As far as i know it would be slower if at all possible. since your Bios does not normally boot from PCI-E ( i could be wrong ) just like some Raid's can slow your boot up as it does need to initialize the raid before t can boot.( this has happened to be before )

Needs Update

This is a problem with the Revo pcie SSDs but i mean the plextor m6e comes with the drivers needed like a normal ssd as my research suggests. Just wanted to know if any users have even faster boot times.

To be honest i don't think you would notice it ..  not like from a HDD to SSD xD don't think its worth it unless you really need that kind of read/writes like if you work with 4k raw video or something.

Yep mine doesn't boot any faster but has made working with my RED 6k footage much more manageable. It is definitely worth the extra money but consider if you are ever even capping out an ssd before you pony up the dough.
