Hey,

What upload speed do i need to stream to twitch (using ShadowPlay) at 1080p 60FPS?

My secs are in my signature below. Right now i am on 50/5 mbps down/up. Planning to go on 125/10 but more than that seems too expensive...

5 is just fine.

High bitrate? Will it be then possible 1440p?

5mbps is a little low if you want to stream at 1080p / 60 fps AND play games without any lag. 10mbps is more than enough.

I have 20 down / 10 up.

It also depends what types of games you're playing, if there is a lot of movement on screen (every FPS for example) then you'll need higher bitrate to avoid pixelisation. If it's a moba type game like LoL you won't need as much to achieve good quality.

1440p I'm not sure about maybe 10+ will be nice

5 is perfectly fine I never have issues when streaming in 1080p

5 up is pretty much a recommended minimum by most streamers for a very stable, high quality stream.

You probably don't need to upgrade.

Ok... So, is there a way to convert download to upload speed? Im on a fibre optic cable.

Unless i maybe ask them... Problem is, upload speed is crucial even when i make a server for a game (like minecraft)

Nope can't convert that. If you have a decent router you should get more than 5 though. I get around 8-9 sometimes 10

If 5 mbps up is your ISP's advertised speed, a "decent router" will not get you over that limit.

50/5 mbps down/up seems like a pretty bad balance and I personally wouldn't go for that deal, try to call them for a custom deal or maybe look into a different ISP?

Explain?

And 50/5 is not a bad deal....

Bro...thats switzerland. Ratio of dwn/up is 10:1. And the more you go up, the worse it gets:

20/2 - 45chf

50/5 - 59chf (mine)

125/10 - 69chf

250/15 - 89chf

Why would you even stream 1440p anyways since most people really won't be able to enjoy it. Just keep 1080p60 but that's just me I guess.

Well then my best suggestion here considering your situation / location would be to stick with the 50/5 plan, you'll be fine as far as streaming goes, and renting a dedicated minecraft server from a reputable server company (idk how big you want your minecraft server to be)

If you're streaming minecraft at 1080p / 60 fps I don't think you'll have any problems considering your rig using 3500 kbps bitrate. There might be a little pixelisation when looking at tree leaves but you'll be fine for the most part.

Yeah, i guess i went over the top with quality there... I will keep it 1080p 60fps. But look... It's not just the bad ratio and those ridiculous prices i just gave. Problem is, thats the cheapest isp in the country. Swisscom would charge like 100+ chf for 50mbps...its hilarious with them... Not only that, but the fact that there is a fiber optic cable in the building (no, in all buildings around switzerland), everyone must pay 30chf/month and if not, they would close that box on the wall and then you are left with no phone, tv signal or internet.... On the other hand there is not a single company providing a wireless internet connection (like with usb...), its all cables here :o omg... You pay those cables for your life, and that is about the same price for electricity here per month... I do not recommend switzerland's ISPs to anyone here...

I'm not going to be streaming any time soon then. LOL :P

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
