What's your cpu?

Also minecraft isn't a peformance benchmark, it's horribly optimised.

I have a fx 6300

What? I'm on a 6100 and it runs fine on an R7 260x.

Minecraft is mostly cpu intensive, and if Mr. OP is running FTB with a huge world and a bunch of objects that make constant draw calls, it will use up resources like no ones business.  GPU's are less important for mc.

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

He's having issues while running FTB, are you running FTB fine?

I run FTB Infinity just fine, 60+ frames on max.

I'm on a worse CPU than OP.

i just know the theory :P

Perhaps he is using a very densely built on map.

I dunno :P It is odd. Maybe he is thermal throttling??

What do you make of it?

I was never able to run FTB packs when I was running an OC'ed FX-6300, it just is not a great CPU for modpacks that are not well optimized to be honest. I still even have issues if I run a very heavy mod pack on my current CPU and GTX 970, but it has to be quite intensive.

EDIT (Just noticed my sig is out of date for the GPU and storage, FYI I use an EVGA 970 and an SSD for reference adn can still get lag).

CPU - i5 4670K || Motherboard - Asus Z87-C  || RAM - Crucial Ballistix Tactical Memory 8GB || GPU - ASUS GTX 970 Strix || Case - Corsair 330R || Storage - 1TB Seagate || PSU - Corsair CX750 || Displays - AOC 21.5 LED x2 || Cooling - Arctic F12 PWM (x2) Corsair 120+140mm || Keyboard - Corsair K70 MX Red || Mouse - Roccat Kova+ || Sound - Thermaltake TTe Shock Headset

How much memory are you dedicating to MC? MC is a thirsty bitch, and will pretty much eat all the memory that you allocate. Optifine may also be a huge help to you.

Optifine usually isn't compatible with any FTB packs.
