Second generation Nexus 7 specs leaked by Asus, coming July 2013

Someone on the Asus Live support chat has leaked the specifications for the Asus k009, aka the second generation Nexus 7.
The specs are:

  • 7" display with a resolution of 1920x1200 giving it a PPI of ~323 (I believe the Asus person accidentally said 1980 instead of 1920)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 (same chip as the HTC One, Optimus G Pro and the Galaxy S 4 i9505, and a few other phones uses). Clock speed is currently unknown though.
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage
  • 5 Megapixel Rear camera
  • 1.2 Megapixel front facing camera
  • 4000mAh battery (down from 4325mAh of the Nexus 7)
  • LTE/WCDMA/GSM support but we do not know the bands yet.
  • Will be released next month (before the end of July, which I guess is this month for some people)

If it is true that it uses a Qualcomm WCN3660 as its WLAN module, then it won't support 802.11ac sadly.

Lower capacity battery? Weird...

I think it is because of pricing and the chip it uses, it is way more efficient than the tegra 3 found in the current nexus 7
