Hello, im wondering what is a Good 3.8Ghz or Higher CPU right now on my PCPartPicker list i have the INTEL I7 4790K 4.0Ghz CPU,Yeah its good i've heard that but is it good if you're NOT doing Liquid Cooled? My, Question Here is HOW good is the AMD FX-8350  CPU vs the Intel i7 4790K 4.0Ghz.

The Case i'm using for my FIRST PC Build is 'Antech 900' Link --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021

My Budget is $1620 Make, comments below for what i should change to save a couple bucks because

i'm getting a DXRacer Blue Gaming chair which is like $359 and Blue is my Setup

Also, here is my  PCPartPicker list --> http://pcpartpicker.com/user/KulJe7/saved/yhVbt6

What's also a GOOD 2TB or up HDD?

If you want to save money(and not watercool/overclock), get a Xeon E3-1241v3.

You gave this thread the worst name possible.

On another note, the 4790k by miles. Amds offerings are nowhere near Intel's right now. GHz isn't everything, the IPC and architecture of the has well chips, and other Intel chips for that matter, are far better than amd.

AMD are good for low to mid tier options, I guess you will generally be better off with the i7 for your requirements. And by the way if I were you I will avoid the i7, and go for a i5 4690K which should do as good as the i7 in gaming and save you some cash.

If I may ask, why do you need so much storage and memory? And dual 970s? Not a problem, just want to make sure they're for a good reason.

The i7-4790K is miles better. And you don't need water-cooling unless you plan to push it to high clock speeds. A Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a great CPU cooler for around $30. be quiet pure rock is good too and is quieter. Both of these will handle the 4790K ample fine at stock and will probably handle ~4.5GHz too.

The i7-4790K is better than the FX-8350 in everything. It gets better framerates in games, it renders video faster, it crunches numbers faster, it edits photos faster, it installs applications faster, it boots faster, it uses less power, generates less heat, and the applicable Z97 motherboards are a much more up to date platform than AM3+.

One thing you should know is that clock speed is only one piece of the puzzle. Two processors can be the same clock speed but one can be multitudes faster. That only tells you how many cycles the processor completes per second - it doesn't tell you how much gets done in each cycle, and how long it takes it to respond to requests, input/output data, etc.

I agree with the storage, all of those prawn eating tutorials take lot's of space. The RAM is something I agree with your doubts on if that matters for anything.

Before the usual suspects bring their Graph War here, let's summarize that you are comparing a processor from October of 2012 to a CPU from Q2 of 2014. Comparing the prices between these two will not equate their proper difference in performance. Yes, the 8350 will be vastly cheaper, but will underperform in most scenario's.

Can i ask why you specifically used 3.8ghz as a performance standard? Either way, You will surpass that speed on just about any unlocked processor, Intel or AMD, with a modest OC on each side.

If you are wanting a CPU for gaming (you mentioned buying a gaming chair, so i will assume that will be your more practical usage of the computer) Get an i5 or i7, and call it a day.

You gaming at 4k? Or 1080p? If 1080p you only need one, (or maybe two for better future proofing)

For your build, I'd recommending nixing 16GB of that RAM since it's really unnecessary unless you're doing professional-grade modelling, engineering, etc. 16GB is more than enough for gaming, video editing etc. Since you're going SLI and have so many drives, you're gonna be dealing with a LOT of cables. I strongly recommend getting a modular power supply. It will save you a lot of headache.

If only more people shared that kind of love. You might enjoy one of the graph's i made last month. It is extra scientifical and what not.

You didn't have to change your picture. @Faceman just isn't himself when he is hungry.

On another note, i would attempt to get the best performance for the money you are willing to spend. Section your budget out, and get the CPU and GPU you want first and foremost, along with the proper storage solution to accommodate what you plan on doing with that computer. Memory is easy, as you can always start with 8gb or 16gb, and expand when you need it. Just make sure you use the same kits and try not to mix and match memory to save yourself a future headache when OCing memory down the road.

Do not worry about getting a watercooler unless you are attempting obnoxious OCing anyways. For what you want to do, i honestly do not think you will need one. The case you chose has plenty of room for fans and decent air flow. You will not hit your throttle limit in that case on air, so long as you keep the voltage of that chip under control, and don't plan on doing heavy AVX2.

If you are still considering the FX8350, be warned that while it has plenty of cores, its IPC is vastly inferior to intel's, and suffers from horrible minimum frames while gaming. Even an i3 will game better than the FX 8350 in certain scenarios. I can say, that the FX series is quite good at redundant levels of multi tasking. The kind of multi tasking that serves no real purpose, but damn, it can do it lol. I was able to run Prime95 while gaming on my FX8320, and had i not started the test myself, wouldn't believe that one was even running.

Still, i would highly suggest investing in Intel for this build, as the AM3 socket is dead, and offers no future paths without a motherboard upgrade. Z97 at the very least, offers a future with Broadwell.
