Bluetooth problem with iphone and ipad?

Ok. I have an iphone 4s and last week the bluetooth just stopped working. Every time i tried to activate it,the bluetooth would just turn off. I took it to the apple store and they said they are not really sure why and couldn't fix it so they gave me a new phone. So everything is fine with the new phone now, though i have noticed now my ipad is doing the same thing? Anyone have any idea of what could be causing it. I did buy a speaker dock recently that I have used them both on. Is there a chance it has damaged them somehow? Probably unlikely though it is strange that it has happened around the same time.
