AMDs new Gpus? Cpu?

Go to solution Solved by QueenDemetria,

I dont really follow the news of pc parts so whats in store for us with the new stuff from Amd? Is there any price or performance leaked allready? How should they stack up to nvidia?

And even more important are there new Cpus comming finally?

For CPU's the new Zen architecture is coming next year. It should reduce power consumption and heat output by a lot, but I would expect the performance to be close to the current Intel processors(maybe a little more, nobody knows). For GPU's, the 300 series is coming soon, but I know nothing about it. I would assume most of the cards will be rebadges(which isn't a bad thing).

This is in the wrong section. Please put in the cpu section

A mod will have to do it.

AMD releases another series of room-heating CPUs? Nice.

Fujitsu Celsius 380W: i5 650 @ 3.2 Ghz | FUJITSU D2917-A1 | 4GB RAM 1333Mhz | ASUS GTX 750 TI Strix OC Edition | Fujitsu Case | 380W Fujitsu PSU | 250GB HDD | Windows 7 64 bit | Dell P2214H

I wouldn't call a CPU with a TDP of 95w "a room heater", but yes its higher than what Intel produces.

Overclock it. Room heater.

Also, remember FX's.

CPU's get hot when OC'd? Wow, it sucks that only AMD has this problem.

Also, what about FX? Zen is not FX. Remember Intel Prescott or Kentfield? Yeah, AMD isn't the only one who has made hot chips.

Pls don't compare 2009 with 2012

Pls.

Also, think it will surely have the same power wattage as the Athlon X4 860K(95W). Or AMD injects their CPU with magical powers and actually have a lower power wattage.

I'm not comparing 2009 with 2012, I'm just pointing out how pointless it is to bring up FX when talking about Zen(since FX has nothing to do with Zen).

As far as TDP goes anything under 100w is pretty low power. Remember, TDP is a measurement of the heat output, not power consumption, so for the flagship chips they won't require ridiculous cooling. Zen is based on 14nm FinFET, so by design Zen will run cool while not wasting much power and depending on how AMD is measuring the TDP there could be a whole lot of chip that is making it run so "hot"(more like luke warm). Basically, AMD might be brewing a power house, but until more details are released we won't know.

It was a joke at first. Sorry for starting this.
