I know this is going to be a big ask but.

Is there any free, low performance and low data usage video recording software.

Will you need to have separate audio tracks and will you be recording games or your desktop?

If your looking for low performance impact and low file size, NVidia Shadowplay is a good option. The video quality is not that great though and sometimes crashes. Something else to look at would be OBS, where you can have much more control over your encoding settings. OBS takes a little more knowledge to setup and get your settings right though.

@Blueprint no separate audio track and recording the game itself.

@Hans Christian | Teri I have enough space + i can always buy more space.

Yeah either shadowplay or AMD's recording software (not sure what it's called) will be good options. (Shadowplay also has a very minimal performance hit)
